Fr. Peter is passionate about reaching people through the love of God. He sees the Lord in all aspects of life, and conveys his deep faith through sermons, classes, and actions.

I was born here in Corpus Christi and was Baptized at Ss. Cyril & Methodius. My father is deceased and my mother, Dr. Maria Consuelo Martinez resides nearby. I graduated from Corpus Christi Academy and went to study at Texas A&M in College Station. Through my work in youth ministry, I discerned a call to the priesthood. My studies continued in Columbus, Ohio and my theology was done at St. Mary’s in Houston. I was ordained in 2004 and have served as the Director of Religious Education for the diocese, a school chaplain and Director of Institutional Advancement, a pastor at St. Paul the Apostle in Flour Bluff and am now president of our diocesan schools, as well as newly assigned pastor at St. Thomas More Parish.  I love my current assignments and promise to do my best in serving the people of God for both.

During my transition to the parish, I have had encouraging conversations from the parish secretary, volunteers, and parishioners about the parish, people and ministries. I have learned that this parish and the people are committed to their faith. As your pastor, I am committed to nourishing your spiritual needs as we grow closer to our Lord Jesus Christ in preparation for this life and the next. 

I invite you to join us in the Celebration of the Eucharist this weekend and introduce yourselves if possible. I look forward to getting to know each of you and will keep you in my prayers. 

Through Baptism we are members of Christ’s Body, the Church, and through the Eucharist we are strengthened to be Christ for others.
